PURGLAS Fishing Rods
PURGLAS has developed Fishing Rods that are designed to increase the casting capabilities of anglers who want to cast a bait out of sight under normal fishing conditions but who also need a good Fishing Rod. PURGLAS also developed their Fishing Rods to be comfortable when fishing for long periods of time and effective when playing a fish. They have achieved this by having low blank weights and special rod designs. South Africa's fishing conditions are very similar to that of the United States as well the size and number of fish caught. This indicates that PURGLAS Fishing Rods are well suited for anglers and angling conditions here in the United States. The question that is sometimes asked " What is the one feature that makes PURGLAS Rods different to other rods?" The answer is "Most fishermen/women would prefer to fish with a 1 piece rod/blank. The problem is it is difficult to transport a long one piece rod. Hence the popularity of 2 and 3 piece rods. Most all 2 and 3 piece rods built today are 2 or 3 different pieces of rod joined together. Each section is manufactured separately and then simply just stuck together. This is much easier from a manufacturing and cost stand point. PURGLAS manufacturing process is very different because the rod starts off as a one piece and then cut into 2 or 3 sections and custom spigot joins are made for each section and then fitted into each rod which is extremely time consuming and costly. BUT the end result is a 1 piece rod made into 2 or 3 pieces and not 2 or 3 different pieces of rod joined together. That is why the PURGLAS rods are becoming so popular. PURGLAS 2 and 3 piece Rods have all the characteristics of a 1 piece rod, light , sensitive , through action, great fishability of a normal high quality 1 piece rod. This type of characteristics are seldom if not at all seen on rods that are made from different pieces of rod and then joined together when compared to a 1 piece rod made into 2 or 3 pieces like a PURGLAS Rod." PURGLAS has also developed specialized Tournament Long Distance Casting Rods. These are extremely effective on the casting court but not recommended for fishing. This is because Tournament Casting Rods are vastly different to Fishing Rods. The furthest cast made so far with a PURGLAS Tournament casting rod is 960 feet. This was not according to Tournament casting Rules because the line diameter was smaller.
